FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does gazebo installation cost?

Gazebo installation labour starts at $425 for an 8x10 and goes up to $980 for a 14x14, depending on size and complexity. Pergolas are priced the same as gazebos by size. The product or kit itself is purchased separately — call (647) 496-6350 for a firm quote on your specific model.

How long does it take to install a gazebo?

Typically 3 to 8 hours depending on the type and size. Sojag, Yardistry, and Domi Living gazebos generally take longer to install because they have a higher piece count. We confirm the timeline when you book.

Do I need a permit for a gazebo in Durham Region?

In Ontario, gazebos over 108 sq ft generally require a building permit, so most of our 10x12 and larger installs will need one — though thresholds vary by municipality. We’ll advise during your estimate; the homeowner is responsible for obtaining any permits.

What site preparation is needed before the installation of my shed/gazebo?

The ground needs to be level and clear. For sheds we recommend a proper base — we have 3 options, and the base covers an area 2 feet wider than the size of the shed you’ve chosen.

  1. Best option: concrete base — $2,499 to $5,999 depending on size.
  2. Second-tier option: patio stone base — $899 to $1,499 depending on size.
  3. Most common option: wood base — $269 to $699 depending on size.

For gazebos, the surface depends on the model: concrete pads, deck surfaces, and level ground all work. We’ll confirm what’s needed at your property during the estimate.

How much does shed assembly cost?

Shed assembly labour starts at $270 for a small 6x4 vinyl shed and goes up to $1,950 for a 12x12 wood shed. The shed kit itself is purchased separately. Shed bases come in 3 options (covering an area 2 feet wider than your shed): concrete base $2,499–$5,999, patio stone base $899–$1,499, or wood base $269–$699, depending on size.

How much does fence installation cost?

Most fence installations are priced at $75 per square foot and up. Every yard is different, so we provide a free on-site or photo-based estimate — call (647) 496-6350 or request one online and we’ll give you a firm number.

How long does a fence installation take?

Most residential fence projects take 2 to 3 days depending on size and ground conditions. We confirm the schedule when you book.

Do you build decks?

Yes — custom deck construction is one of our core services alongside fences, gazebos, and sheds. Decks are quoted individually since every project is different. Get in touch for a free estimate.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based in Durham Region and serve Ajax, Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, and the surrounding GTA.

Do I buy the product myself or do you supply it?

For gazebos, sheds, and pergolas, you purchase the kit and we handle professional installation. For garage door openers, we both supply and install — Chamberlain models starting at $299 plus installation.

How do I get an estimate?

Call (647) 496-6350 or use the free estimate form on our website. For most outdoor projects we can quote from photos and measurements; for fences and decks we may visit the property.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — we’re a licensed and insured home services company. We’ve completed over 281 projects and hold a 5.0-star rating across 62 Google reviews.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Our outdoor living work — decks, fences, gazebos, and sheds — carries a 2-year workmanship warranty. Garage door opener installations carry a 1-year installation warranty. If something isn’t right, call us and we’ll make it right.

Why should I hire a professional instead of assembling it myself?

Large kits like gazebos and sheds involve hundreds of parts, heavy lifting, and structural anchoring. A professional install is faster, safer, and done right the first time — and it protects your product warranty, which many manufacturers void on improper assembly.

How much does garage door opener installation cost?

Professional installation is $159 for a replacement (swapping an existing opener) or $199 for a full new installation. Most installs take between 45 minutes and 2 hours. Every installation is backed by our 1-year installation workmanship warranty.

Do you sell garage door openers, or do I buy my own?

Both. We supply Chamberlain openers starting at $299 — five models to fit different door sizes and needs — or we can install an opener you’ve already purchased. Call (647) 496-6350 and we’ll help you pick the right one.

How long does it take to build a deck?

A straightforward ground-level deck can be done in a few days; larger multi-level or custom decks take longer. We give you a firm timeline with your free estimate before any work starts.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

In Ontario, decks with a walking surface more than 24 inches above the ground generally require a building permit, and guardrails are required at that height too (36-inch guards up to 6 feet high, 42-inch above that). Ground-level decks under 24 inches typically don’t need one. We’ll advise on permits during your estimate — the homeowner is responsible for obtaining them.

Do I need a permit for a fence?

Most standard residential fences don’t require a building permit as long as they stay within your municipality’s height limits. Pool enclosures are the exception — Ontario has strict safety rules for pool fencing. If you’re unsure, we’ll advise during your estimate.

What happens on installation day?

We arrive on time, do a site walk to confirm the plan, protect your property during the work, and clean up before we leave. Most gazebo and shed projects are done the same day; fences usually take 2 to 3 days depending on the size of the fence. After the final inspection and your sign-off approval, the job is complete.

Do you assemble playsets?

Yes — we assemble playsets and swing sets. Installation is $289 for regular-size playsets and $599 for large playsets, and most installs take 4 to 5 hours. Call (647) 496-6350 or request a free estimate to book.

How far in advance should I book?

It depends on the season — spring and summer book up fastest. We recommend reaching out as early as you can; call (647) 496-6350 and we’ll let you know our current availability.

What payment methods do you accept? Do you require a deposit?

A deposit is required for large-scale jobs, like decks and fences. Payments can be taken through our website or in person via Stripe.

What gazebo brands do you install?

We install all major brands, including Sojag, Yardistry, Domi Living, Landon & Co, Hampton Bay, Sunjoy, and Backyard Discovery. If you’ve bought a kit from any of these brands, call (647) 496-6350 and we’ll get it installed right.

How long does shed assembly take?

A 7x9 or 8x8 shed typically takes 2.5 to 4.5 hours depending on the brand and model. Larger sheds from 10x8 to 10x15 take 4.5 to 7.5 hours. We confirm the timeline when you book.

Do you remove old sheds?

Yes — we do old shed removals. Metal shed removal is $250 for an 8x8 or 7x9 and $325 for a 10x8. Wood shed removal runs $750 to $980 for a 10x12. Call (647) 496-6350 for a quote on other sizes.

Do you install through the winter?

Yes — we work through the winter, though fence installations wrap up in late November. Some projects like concrete bases are weather-dependent, so call (647) 496-6350 and we’ll advise on timing for your project.

What types of fences do you install?

We install wood, vinyl, chain-link, composite, and metal & ornamental fences. Call (647) 496-6350 or request a free estimate and we’ll recommend the right material for your yard and budget.

What deck sizes do you build?

We build decks to any size, but our two most popular standards are 12x12 and 16x20. Every deck is quoted individually — call (647) 496-6350 for a free estimate on your project.

What materials do you use for decks?

Our standard is pressure-treated lumber and cedar. Both hold up well in Ontario weather. Call (647) 496-6350 and we’ll recommend the right material for your budget and how you’ll use the deck.

How are your decks supported?

Our decks are built on concrete piers set below the frost line, so they stay stable through freeze and thaw. We build to Ontario Building Code standards.

Do I need a permit for a shed?

In Ontario, sheds over 108 sq ft generally require a building permit — most of our 10x12 and larger installs will need one. Smaller sheds typically don’t. We’ll advise during your estimate; the homeowner is responsible for obtaining any permits.

Do you install pergolas?

Yes — pergola installation is one of our core services. Pergolas are priced the same as gazebos by size: labour starts at $425 for an 8x10 and goes up to $980 for a 14x14. The kit itself is purchased separately — call (647) 496-6350 for a firm quote on your model.

Can you install a gazebo on my existing deck?

Yes, as long as your deck is structurally sound. We anchor the gazebo directly to the deck surface. We’ll assess your deck during the estimate to confirm it’s suitable.

Why choose a metal louvered pergola?

Metal louvered pergolas are a popular pick for BBQ areas — the non-combustible construction and adjustable louvers make them well suited to housing a barbecue, which you can’t safely do under wood. Open the louvers for sun and airflow, close them for cover.
